Space to Be
is a realisationhouse.
Mind is the medium;
Life is the canvas.
A place to receive one-to-one support for living with more lightness and ease.
welcome
My name is John.
I’m a spiritual friend and meditation teacher.
I offer one-to-one sessions and meditation instruction to support individuals to live with more clarity, stability, and ease.
what I offer
Spiritual Friendship
One-to-one sessions that feel like good friendship:
supportive, honest, and human.
Space to explore, find clarity, and rediscover your own wisdom.
Sessions last about 60 minutes.
I’ve written more about Spiritual Friendship sessions here.
Meditation Instruction
Alongside spiritual friendship, I also offer clear, accessible, and practical meditation guidance.
I’ve trained as a mindfulness meditation teacher twice, once in Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach’s MMTCP and then in Dharma Moon and Tibet House’s MMTT with David Nichtern.
My approach balances respect for lineage with flexibility for modern life.
Whether you’re just beginning or looking to deepen your practice, I’ll help you find what works.
how it works
We’ll meet online or in-person for one-to-one sessions.
Each session is ~60 minutes.
Frequency is flexible: weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.
A Discovery Call is free — so you can see if it feels right.

about me
Being a Spiritual Friend and Meditation Teacher is not something I would’ve chose for myself a decade ago.
I come to offer these things only through my own trials, courage, and curiosity.
For years I believed I would become a doctor. I spent over four years at medical school in London pursuing that path. But change happens. During my studies, I discovered meditation as an antidote to personal struggles with anxiety and paranoia. It gave me freedom, and I found growing scientific evidence that confirmed its value.
Eventually I stepped away, travelled the world, and followed my curiosity into new fields. What grounded me through it all was training in the traditions that supported me, and deepening my own practice. That is what now enables me to offer my experience as support for others.
Today, I offer spiritual friendship & meditation instruction, host Beings Club, and create for Wonderfool — all in service to those who are looking to live well.
I believe everyone has the right to experience happiness, and that with practice we can learn to work with the mind to create lives that are lighter, kinder, and more our own.
It is my great joy to support others in this work.
If this speaks to you, I invite you to book a call.
